Meet The Instructor

David “Tug” Chamberlin

Hidey Ho! I am David “Tug” Chamberlin and I am the instructor here at FIT for the Tourism Industries program. I have been involved in the Hospitality and Tourism (H & T) Industry since my first job at a Bonanza Steakhouse in Lynchburg, VA in 1979, and almost every form of employment I have had since then has been in one of the four industries under the H & T umbrella: attractions, food & beverage, lodging, and transportation.

This program was my brainchild 10 years ago. H & T is the biggest overall industry in Fayette County, WV, as well as in 48 other states and DC. It is also the fastest growing industry in the world. This is one of the easiest industries to get involved in, advance up the ladder in, and have the opportunity for mobility.

I look forward to having you join us for the most fun, motivating, and opportunistic program at FIT.

If I would have to say one thing about Mr. Chamberlin, it would be that he really cares about your future . . . He may seem hard on you but the only reason he does that is because he is able to see the potential you have.”
